I Remember

I've never forgotten you Richard,

tho' year after year passes by..

The people around wonder

And sometimes question why?

They weren't around in our time,

And they don't know what we had..

We surely had our ups & downs

Happy times & sad...

I remember trips to the beach

And partys with friends of ours..

Having talks at coffee shops

And that crazy Oldsmobile car.

I remember when we decided t

To have our firstborn child...

And I remember our happiness believing

Our love would last awhile.

I remember when they took you away

And when you let me go..

I remember being pregnant & lost

And having our child alone.

I remember mistakes I made

And I pay for that with dreams..

And they will continue to haunt me

And always will, it seems.

But a person can't go backwards

To fix the errors of time...

No matter what the situation

No matter what the crime.

I want you to know...I remember

And I truly hope you do too...

For those were some very happy times

When love meant me & you.
